Postdoc position in cardiac electrophysiology and gene therapy
Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) is one of the most renowned universities in Germany. As part of the Chair of Pharmacology (Prof. Martin Biel) at the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy, the working group “Molecular Cardiovascular Pharmacology” lead by PD Dr. Stefanie Fenske deals with the analysis of the physiological and pathophysiological role of ion channels in the cardiovascular system especially in the generation of the regular and coordinated heartbeat. We are in particular interested in processes that coordinate the activity of the pacemaker network and the interaction of pacemaker cells with external regulatory systems (e.g. the autonomous nervous system). As part of our studies, we develop and optimize CRISPR/Cas9-based gene therapy approaches for the curative treatment of cardiac diseases.
Qualification profile
PhD in natural sciences e.g. biology, biochemistry, medicine, pharmacy or related disciplines.
Experience in:
• patch-clamp electrophysiology, preferably on cardiomyocytes
• working with genetically modified mouse models, preferably with FELASA certificate
• molecular biology, biochemistry, confocal calcium imaging
• performing in vivo surgeries, such as transmitter implantations
• teaching (physiology, pharmacology)
If you are interested, please send a letter of motivation together with your signed CV, university transcripts and two references. All written documents must be merged into one PDF document.
